nifflas' games (particularly knytt stories) were my intro to indie games
the support forum was my intro to proper electronic music and a bunch of other games i still love
also their irc channel is on esper, and that server's furry channel is how i became a furry

@catterfly last time i was poking at the idea for her game, her quest was that her mother (a HUGE dragon that looks more like a classical western dragon) gets sick - just with a cold or something else that'd go away in a week or two - but she sets off on a quest anyway to visit a cleric and get some medicine to make the illness go away faster
she's... proactive, and very optimistic and gung-ho about solving problems herself

@catterfly a couple ircops on esper are furries, actually! #furry is actually one of the biggest channels on that server

@catterfly the game would be an agile platformer sorta game, kinda like super mario world; she can't fly normally but has a double jump and a wallkick
powerups might give her higher jumps or a breath weapon or some other number of things! i have a list of powerup ideas somewhere, can dig it up if you want
she also can carry an item in her paws and has a satchel that lets her store a second item; there would be lots of different items that do different stuff when used or thrown
