@centaur The outline and fur tone are basically right, but everything else is very wrong. Need to figure out what I'm doing wrong here.
These portraits are stored as 8-bit tiles, easy enough to interpret. This is my attempt at reading the separate palette file. It looks like it's a 15-bit palette in a very simple file, just two bytes per colour index with no header or anything else.

And look at this lovely shiba I met a week ago! Friendly in a very aloof, shiba-ey way; rubbed up against my leg to ask to be pet.
I met a nice cat the other day! A bit nervous and didn’t want me to get close, but was happy to watch me from a distance.

I'm giving a talk this January at CodeMash in Sandusky, Ohio! It's about my experience as tech lead on a team building a successful and (dare I say) performant Electron application.
