Is there any standard one-byte Japanese encoding? e.g., one that would contain ASCII and kana, but no Kanji. I'm familiar with Shift JIS and EUC-JP, but I'm wondering if a one-byte font I'm looking at is using a layout cribbed from elsewhere.

My Laseractive works, but I think the PC-Engine module needs to be recapped... who even do I get to do that?
