Was thinking about April showers and May flowers this morning, and of all things to come to mind, I wasn't expecting the prologue to the Canturbury Tales, in old English.
I had to memorize it in high school, complete with the original pronounciation. Even did a related project where I wrote the whole thing out in calligraphy pen and "illuminated" the margins.
What the heck, brain.
Meanwhile, yeah, that phrase/idiom about showera and flowers has been around a /long/ time.

Yeah, it really hits home some od the language origins too, and how cousin it is to German.
@CoronaCoreanici @emanate Did you stop at the "hem hath helpe wan that they were seke" part? That's where we ended. I just looked it back up and oh god I remember most of it apparently.
