Food, meat specifically
Finally tried out my local butcher. I had a coupon for buy one pound of sausage get one free so I bought a pound of country style, a pound of Italian style, and half a pound of chorizo.
I’m frying up a little chorizo as well as some of the grocery store chorizo I usually get to compare it, but I’m disappointed to discover that the country style sausage has MSG in it. Probably not enough to give me a fibro reaction especially if I eat it in moderation, but it’s still disappointing to see it used. Oh well. At least it was free.
okay I feel like I can only watch this while high and surrounded by friends. slightly buzzed and alone is no way to watch this movie. I should switch to something I actually enjoy.
this one cat just unzipped her skin and fur and pulled it off revealing clothing underneath
also everyone is really horny but in an unsettling way
also do they really need to do this thing in shakycam with a crapton of quick cuts that make it hard to even follow the action?
like I'm no filmmaker or anything but I'm pretty sure that neither were the people who made this
it's totally wild to me that historically cinematographers have gone to great lengths to avoid camera artifacts like lens flares and so on, and then here we go with a fully-virtual camera production where they go out of their way to add those back in to make it look more realistic
except they look really fake
Kurzgesagt seems to always release videos that hit me especially hard at whatever moment it's released in. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXeJANDKwDc
I just found out that Sublime Text 4 released the other day. I'm debating whether to upgrade from ST3... there's nothing that is really compelling for an upgrade for me just yet, but they've got a lot of future functionality planned for ST4 which I do want. But now it costs basically $27/year to keep it updated...
Maybe this is what gets me to finally give VSCode another chance, but gosh I really like Sublime Text's minimalistic UI.

Last night I found this rather lovely choose-your-own-adventure-ish comic-ish thing on FurAffinity and I'm sharing it with everyone who I think would be into it.
ah dang, the vet is still not allowing general wellness appointments due to COVID restrictions, and since he's an indoor cat he's a low priority for vaccination too.
he's overdue for a wellness check and vaccinations anyway, maybe I should take him to the vet and let them trim his claws
The most frustrating thing about building software is the feeling that I'm building sand castles that will eventually get wiped away. It takes a staggering amount of effort *just to keep software running exactly the same as before*. Not to add improvements! Not to fix bugs! Just to keep it working exactly the same as it once did. It's maddening if you want to have a sense of personal pride at something you built years ago. Your "legacy" is nonexistent, unless you stay on the treadmill.
