@vahnj We're not seeing radical change. It's still change, but it's not some massive rearrangement of US politics.
Virginia hasn't elected a Republican to statewide office in 8 years. Northam won continuing that trend.
There's somewhat of a blowback against Trump, but so far it's no bigger than the blowback than there often is against the party in power. (See: 2010).

@ftl it feels huge compared to the slow decay of the obama administration into what we have today but i also hide from politics a lot so

@vahnj I'll believe there's radical change when progressives win control at a national level... and then *continue gaining* rather than immediately facing blowback and starting to lose. When the other party is forced to adapt progressive policies or be destroyed.
Seeing a year or two of pushback doesn't mean much. Again, see: 2010.
