@FinnyLion California has it, I think? Except for presidential elections. I think it's not very good either - it makes the *primaries* a tactical voting situation. Candidates still affiliate themselves with the political parties, and then you have to vote tactically to make sure that the top-two aren't just the two from the party that had fewer candidates and split their votes the least, regardless of any actual positions.

doctor who, no spoiler
The new Doctor Who first episode is pretty awesome. Looking back on it, it did a great job of setting up the New Doctor’s character, introducing companions, telling a self contained story, setting up a longer story arc, AND distinguishing it from previous show runners’ styles. Usually I end up thinking the first episode with a new doctor is a bit meh, but this one was awesome!

So the new Doctor Who seems really, really good? It's a little early to see how the plot shakes out, but Jodie Whittaker is fantastic, and it's absolutely gorgeous, with a scifi fairy tale aesthetic, and a cast of companions with all sorts of potential.

Voter registration deadlines are coming up rather quickly. If you think you're already registered to vote, double-check & make sure, because voter registration purges are actually happening.
If your response is, "If voting actually changed anything, they'd make it illegal," then everything every state has done since Shelby County v. Holder (gutting the VRA) should assure you: It does, & they are.
