@thefishcrow@cybre.space depends on how thick it is. if you can, put it in a Ziploc bag and stick it in warm water; better still if you can put it in a bowl under running cold/tepid water. it'll cook fine if it's frozen, it's really just a pain in the ass to break it up.

@zebratron2084 growf growf grawr. if (when? it seems at this point) you do break for sunnier climes I will miss you fiercely, and maybe try to visit, although the entire concept of LA makes me twitchy. most importantly, you do what you need to be well. I have been truly honored to have your friendship, and I wish I could help somehow. time heals all wounds, but it takes a long time to go from hurting to itching, you have to watch out for infections, and it leaves *really* ugly scars. :/
@guerrillarain@witches.town it's not the worst reason! also cats are pretty damn awesome overall imo. :D if you get a kitten you can train it to be a shoulder cat, which is great as long as your shoulder cat doesn't grow up to be a 17-lb monster (like mine did).

If you liked the old Livejournal concept, but hate what the Russian owners have done with the place, I recommend trying out Dreamwidth.
It's based on a fork of the original LJ code, but continually developed since then for a much better experience. The people who run the place care about community and they're definitely LGBT+ friendly.
