Late Stage Capitalism in the USA (---)
CNN Money posted this article:
"Almost half of US families can't afford basics like rent and food"
In the article they go on to clarify:
"The economy may be chugging along, but many Americans are still struggling to afford a basic middle class life."
> basics like rent and food
> basic middle class life
Guess what, folks! "Middle Class" now apparently means "not homeless and able to feed yourself!"

wildlife rehab: baby bird feeding (training edition)
so next Wednesday I return to weekly volunteering and stuffing food into bird faces basically forever! <3
wildlife rehab: baby bird feeding (training edition)
I got to hand-feed a couple of juncos and robin fledglings, I learned about crops, and I skipped the paperwork and t-shirt session at the end because done that, got one. :D all the raccoons and bear cubs have been released, btw, and the bobkittens are scheduled for release Friday! right now they've got a couple of short-tailed weasels which I will probably never get to glimpse. XD

CW covers the context! feeding baby birds looks like it's going to be particularly interesting and satisfying for me, though we'll see how I feel about it after a couple of months--I expect I'll be happy to get back to the variety of tasks upstairs once August rolls around. we have a couple of "mystery jellybeans" in the nursery that are "probably crows," though nobody knows for sure, but they're *big*--6" long?--and *hungry*. XD
