but aside from that, I have accomplished all the things I set out to do today, hooray! *tosses a handful of confetti in the air, which gets caught in the air conditioner and fan and blows everygoddamnwhere, getting in my eyes, OH GODS IT'S IN MY EYES, WHY DID I THINK THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA*
okay evidently I won't be picking up the box that was sent to the office yesterday because today the office is surrounded by construction tape and closed! nooooo idea what it's for or why, I couldn't get close enough to the sign to read the explanation (yes I have new glasses on the way). might be able to pick it up tomorrow? *shrug emoji*

re:lrt - chatted about this with Spouse, he explained why that's a pretty much pointless avenue of system attack, it wouldn't work against the kind of sequencers he works with at all, and points out that it's still a lot easier to just hack the server running the sequencing software from its network connection. so, Crime Genes aren't a thing yet. XD

bunch of semi-random stuff; the one good bit was walking along a raised roadway and peering into a hawk's nest, at the four hatchlings there (one of which looked like a soft pink armadillo??), and then watching the parent hawk swoop down to a nearby house that had the front door open and calmly walk-hop inside. it was in there for a minute, then flew out and back up to the nest with a whole fish in its claws, and I laughed. maybe consider a screen door to keep the hawks out? XD
