So I think I pieced together what the heck ✨Plush Punk✨ means now.

✨Plush punk✨ is a subculture of punk that extols kindness, community and all around ‘softness’ (either figurative and/or literal!), but is ready to raise hell when something threatens those values.

ohmygod Nar just bit his own tail hard enough to pull out a couple of (small) tufts of fur and then he *hissed* at it. I am *dying*.

uspol, zuck, mean

Okay this is probably a little mean to point out but it's zuckerberg so I don't really feel bad about it

He had a little booster seat to sit on while giving testimony

welp sleep didn't work out too well for me today, which is annoying because today is a Stuff To Do day, as is tomorrow, and Naps are not on the Stuff To Do list. :| I'm really not sure how I'm going to get all the Stuff done and still fit Naps into my schedule. maybe instead I'll actually sleep tonight??? in 2021 the speed of meme-meta overtakes the rate of meme creation itself; image macros arrive in the browser already self-referential, appearing as cryptic jpeg artifacts zooming in on themselves like a mandelbrot set visualization, embedded captions describing the very pixels that they are formed from

random morning thoughts

for some reason I've always assumed that "One Direction" is a "christian rock" band, but this morning I realized it might be based on a "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead" quote, and if it is it's *seriously* badass and I suddenly have a lot more respect for them, but I'm reluctant to look it up in case I'm wrong (and they really are an Xtian rock band).

Research on Cops

"... A related strand of research explores the influence of racial bias on police performance and decision-making, showing that officers apply lower evidentiary thresholds, (Gelman, Fagan and Kiss 2007; Glaser 2014; Goel et al. 2016) and a greater propensity to use force (Correll et al. 2007; Eberhardt et al. 2004; Legewie 2015) when dealing with nonwhite suspects."

Research on Cops

"... police work itself fosters authoritarian personality traits (Laguna et al. 2009; McNamara 1967; Neiderhoffer 1967). Police behavior has also been linked to aggressiveness (Hargrave, Hiatt, and Gaffney 1988), conservative ideology (Christie et al. 1995; Fielding and Fielding 1991) and substance abuse (Sellbom et al. 2007)."
