anybody in the north Seattle area with a car wanna help me do a couple errands real quick? :| Lyfting is possible, but logistically challenging...

there's also the question of which store(s) to go to. I need more stuff from two stores that are farther away, but the need for stuff from the closer store is more urgent; and since I don't have a car, buying things at one store and then dragging them through the second (or third) store is unappealing. :| plus if I were to hit all three it would definitely mean I'd have to take the cart, which isn't fun in the rain. growf grrf.

wow, it's cold and pouring down rain today. do not know if want to go to store badly enough....

Tozen At Lowes:
Tozen was smashing flower pots at Lowes when his student, a store clerk, approaches in agitation.
"Tozen! Why are you destroying these pots?"
The master shook his head.
"I have destroyed nothing. The void which constitutes the pot still remains."
The student-clerk was incredulous
"I do not see this void."
Tozen smiled "Look around you."
The clerk did as he was told.
When he looked back to Tozen he saw nothing, and was enlightened.

and now, having had a shower and a nap, I get to decide: Skyrim? or something else that isn't Skyrim? (we all know the answer to this, come ~on~)

speaking from experience as a wildlife rehabilitation volunteer:

DO NOT HABITUATE WILD ANIMALS TO HUMAN CONTACT. it is BAD FOR THE ANIMALS. it can cause huge problems for humans, and it can KILL THE ANIMALS.

~~WILD ANIMALS ARE NOT PETS!!~~

most of the birds are being released almost right away--they just need some downtime, evaluation, and feeding up. some have more extensive problems, but most of those are treatable, though they require longer stays--we have I think five barred owls, two great horned owls, and a barn owl right now, along with seagulls, pigeons, crows, robins, and others. MANY BIRDS, HANDLE IT

we still have Smallest Bear, who is still being evaluated. another MRI showed what seemed to be unusually smooth brain lobes, but the vet who did the scan isn't familiar with bear MRI scans, so now there's more networking going on to figure out if it's unusual or what. the other cubs are hibernating successfully. aside from the bears, bobcat kittens, and a few raccoons, all we have now are birds.

I personally didn't interact with any wildlife, except while raking the leaves around the outdoor pools and badly startling a duck (some kind of sea-duck, I can't remember what kind--I don't think it's a scaup but that's the only thing that comes to mind). oh! and I spotted a red-breasted sapsucker on the walk down, which are uncommon, and also identified that weird squeaky-toy call they make!

Skyrim: new mod fun

I had a bit of trouble getting the "Interesting NPCs" mod installed, but I've talked to two of the new NPCs so far and I LOVE IT. XD thank you very much @starkatt for the recommendation!

Today the cats decided they were prepared to share the same couch cushion - first time since I brought them home from the rescue centre.
