I was not the only volunteer today, but I was one of only three. despite immediately tagging myself for mouse tank cleaning and the usual nursery/ward duty, I was also asked to assist with "meds and tubings" in the ward, which consists of catching and holding birds while they have various things poured into their gullets. my first time actually handling the birds!

I held a crow, two gulls, a flicker, two rock pigeons, and a band-tailed pigeon.

okay can't get too into playing around here, have to go volunteer, later bye <3

well hello there, mild formless anxiety. you've been gone a while. I hadn't really missed you, and I wish you wouldn't settle in for an extended stay...

thank you for the well-wishes... some combination of naproxen and nap seems to have fixed whatever the problem was, and I'm feeling okay now. yay? hoping my head won't explode with pain again... *slightly hunted look*

yeeaaaahahhhhh digestion is getting unruly, it's time for peppermint tea. :| I like peppermint tea but I'm annoyed that I *have* to keep having it on a regular basis to deal with unruly digestive issues. u___u

current project: Not Falling Asleep Until At Least 8 pm

odds of success: actually very good since if I do try to go to sleep before 8 the cats will scream me awake

that uh I'm tired.

not sleepy-tired, but exhausted-tired. even when there isn't a lot to do, rehab volunteering is hard work, and I'm very out of shape for it. so tomorrow I'm going to mostly rest up, maybe go to JoAnn's for Xmas ornament supplies and Home Depot for a curtain rod, and then Friday I'm going to GO DO VOLUNTEERING AGAIN yeeeeeyy *thud*

that my grandmother was cannier than I thought.

I had assumed I was going to have to get special spring clamps or magnets or something to hang up the quilts made by my grandmother that mom gave me when I went down to CA, but turns out grandma including hanging sleeves on the backs of them, so all I need to do is get some appropriately-sized curtain rods. XD it may have been in the pattern and she was just following it, but still--thanks, gramma!

why my thumb hurts.

my right thumb started aching, around where it connects to my hand, bad enough that it's sometimes difficult to grip things. I was all ??? until I thought "hmm, have I done something different with it lately? well there *was* that time I drove TO CALIFORNIA AND BACK oh right." not holding a steering wheel for hours on end for several days and applying warmth seems to help!
