So, prompted by another thread:

I don't really want a fursuit, and especially not a fursuit head. What I want a face covering that explicitly reads as a mask.

It's a weird reverse thing? To me personally, a fursuit head that tries to be as realistic as possible would still feel like costume. A mask, however, acknowledges my embodied human form while being a reflection of a deeper underling animality.

(sadly, the artist who makes the masks I really covet didn't answer an email. I'm trying to figure out what the next best thing is.)

@indi Absolutely gorgeous work but not quite what I'm thinking of for the moment. I'm bookmarking it anyway :) Thanks!

@starkatt I actually think she does do 'more-mask-like' stuff, if you haven't seen it in the gallery (I'm sure I've seen it there somewhere) but it does still have fur, etc, so it's not really the same vibe as the jillor stuff like Ellu's. I can confirm that Jill does not take commissions for those, but does sometimes offer premade ones for sale, it's then just a matter of hoping that what they put up meets with your aesthetics.

@indi @starkatt I have been so tempted to buy a mask from her also since she makes such pretty hyenas.

Hmm...signing bonus coming up...

@indi Yeah, I saw the partial masks and they are an intriguing possibility but don't leap out at me.

The about page for jillor said to email commission inquiries, so I'm sad to learn that it is in fact just closed. Do you know where I can look for ones being sold as-is?

@starkatt I think they get posted on FA, twitter, etc, when they happen.

@starkatt I think it's @jillcostumes

Might wanna ask Ellu directly though; he probably better knows the channels to use, since people ask him about the mask all the time.
