So has anyone else ever experienced like, I'm not sure what to call it other than reverse sense memory?

Many years ago, back in college, I spilled an entire condiment cup of soy sauce all across my laptop keyboard. Fixing it involved a harrowing disassembly and it never fully recovered, and also forever after smelled of dried soy sauce. :P

I just spilled a cup of water all over my work laptop. Fortunately, this computer is a lot more resilient. Unfortunately, I KEEP SMELLING SOY SAUCE. O.o

Design Thinking about sexuality in communities

Re the current discussions about making friends in communities where open sexuality is common, I'm thinking about how we can do better with tools and values about communication.

So, I have a question for folks, especially those who feel they're not well-served in these communities currently:

What do YOU, personally, want others to know about your needs, regarding sexuality or lack thereof?

(Answers in DMs okay!)

MH ~

Seem to have had a bunch of emotional stuff all catch up with me tonight. Ended up feeling like I've gotten into a... weird place, in a lot of ways.

Lotsa crying, interspersed with some recuperative dinner-out and good cuddling. I'm thankful I'm surrounded by folks who can help me through stuff like this.

I still feel it all, but... I'll do my best to manage.

Relationships, continued (-/funny)

That being said, really could've done without the bar we were at playing both "Creep" AND "Loser" while we were there. -.-

Poly relationships (-/+)

Very happy that I have an owner and other partners to help console me and give me space for sads and frustration when another relationship goes all awry.

Different kinstuff

TFW when your 'astral' form has its OWN phantom limbs.

Possibly two different sorts of them.

Is it time to start talking about post-otherkin? ;)

(I keep almost typing "ritual" rather than "feast" which, not inaccurate. ;))

Another good thing from the feast: Realized the term "steward" describes my role at the Eyrie really well, and also that I like the sound of it a lot.

A good thing from the feast tonight: We randomly ending up seated next to a cool kink-active woman from Cap Hill and talking a lot. This probably came up next when introductions we're going around the table, Elanna introduced me as her servant. Not sure we would have been so bold if another woman (not the one we talked to even) hadn't introduced the guy she was sitting with that way first. Such is Seattle, folks. ;)

Just got back from a (really good!) Yule feast at a local medieval living history museum place.

I had no desire or ability to dress in period garb, so I went with "weird witchy person who lives on the edge of the village and will probably curse you if you're not careful"

Not as visible as I'd like: The reindeer-pelt cloak I made right before our Yule ritual, and the hair leather-wrapping and spiral that I like so much I may wear them more often! awoo.space/media/wDrK0QRnjW2od awoo.space/media/cMaIRPd3uhnVJ

(I mean I haven't actually played them yet and I have minor reservations about the rules; going back to d20 rolls after being so used to dice pools in so many different systems just feels weird by itself, for a start. But still!)

D&D 5e turns out to be pretty awesome; I actually managed to satisfyingly implement a character concept that I first planned to play in EXALTED. XD

Really thankful to the Seattle postfurry community for making our Glowtide-season events this year so wonderful; both the ritual on the 22nd and the party last night were great.

AND, totaled up for both events, our low-key fundraising bowl for Trans Lifeline received $113.25 in donations, which is awesome as well and has now been sent off.

Thank you all for helping make these events and this lovely Glowtide season possible.

Eggnog, cookies, and moss for the reindeer.

I mean, y'all didn't think I was gonna skip what's probably the biggest spirit offering tradition still practiced on this continent, did you? ;)

Hooray, I successfully made chestnuts that are easy to peel and eat!

The secret is to NOT roast them over an open fire, but in a pressure cooker. ;)

Eeeee it's a white christmas in Seattle for the first time I've been here!

*bounces around in the snow, because deer!*

If anyone is interested to read the story I told at the Glowtide gathering last night, I've written it all out here: spiritwork.latrani.net/post/16 (and it'll be going on the Eyrie Rites wiki soon too!)
