Habari gani, y'all? Today is the first day of Kwanzaa!! We focus on Umoja, or Unity, today -- how can we strive for and maintain unity in our homes, communities, and the world at large? What are we doing to unite our fellow denizens of the planet?

Right now, I'll admit, I'm focusing my unity on my family. We're cleaning the living room and making space in the shelves for those who're joining Keet and I in building a home. I'll come together with the rest of the world once I've got this part settled. I need less turbulence in my world if I'm to share it much beyond what I'm doing now.
@orrery @pendragon You know what? I hear you. :) I think for me, a big focus of 2019 will be making my home more of a comfort while ALSO making sure I only have what I need. I'd rather not keep accumulating things if I don't have to, you know?
We don't actually have a Kwanzaa kinara; maybe I'll get one for next year!
@jakebe @pendragon Part of the exercise right now is going through all the _stuff_ we've accumulated across fifteen years and a dozen ex-roommates and figuring out how much of it we even care about any more.
@jakebe ... Well, it's a silly little thing, but over in the Low-Melting-Point Furries group we've got a nice new bucket we're using to gather around the fireplace and would be glad to have anyone drop in.
