Like, standing up for your work-life balance or the ability to do your job well is often translated as "not wanting to do the work" or "not working well with others".
So it's either do a crappy rush job or devote more and more time to figuring out how to do it well. Ugh.
And complaining about the fact that it's messed up for both the worker and the customer to be set up for failure like that is viewed as my problem, not a genuinely crappy practice that should not have happened.
You have to pretend to be "grateful for the opportunity"
One thing that I am 150% over with Silicon Valley companies is the weird professional gaslighting that happens when a set of responsibilities fall to your team without notice or prep because of some decision you weren't any part of.

here’s my breakthrough model of mental illness. i find it very hard to answer questions about my “mood” because my “mood” is generally good even if i can’t “eat” or “brush my teeth” so this helps me to conceptualize/explain how i’m doing (“pretty bad”)
