It feels both demoralizing and insane to have the thought "Why can't I just let strangers be mean to me and not take it personally?" multiple times a week.
Like, I'm a rep for a company sure, but I'm not solely responsible for company policies, I'm trying to help
I think the thing that sucks MOST about this week is that I wish I could be more emotionally resilient about it. Other folks can apparently brush this off, so why do I internalize it so much?
It would make my life so much easier to be less bothered, but how does that work
It sucks when your job is to help and people expect you to help but you actually can't help at all. It's tough to just shake that off. Ugh.
I know it's frustrating for the customers and I'm sympathetic to that, but I have no power in this situation and all I can do is basically take the abuse with no answers to give them.
And I have to keep reporting things so internal folks care enough to work on it I guess?
This whole week has been full of me getting yelled at by angry customers, given vague responses by coworkers, being told I'm full of shit and..trying not to take any of it personally?
It's really doing a number on my self-image, let me tell you. Why do I work here again?
