Oh, and I wrote 1,659 words yesterday. *Slightly* ahead of my wordcount, but let's not get excited it's only been two days
The time for anger on either side has long passed. It is no longer healthy or productive.
We HAVE to focus on acknowledging where we are, accepting what we've done, and agreeing to move forward together.
Otherwise, it's just more violence, more oppression, with new names.
They see that we're not thugs and terrorists and rapists, just people who want the same things they do.
And WE see that they're just people, not monsters and savages. We see how scared and misinformed they are, how they feel when they reckon with our shared humanity.
I honestly believe that the only way we'll be able to properly deal with racism in the US is through a reconciliation process.
The oppressed and the custodians of our oppressive systems, in one room together, so we can talk and they can listen.
