beastieball, some beastie/metamorph spoilers, relationship chart for my beasties
I thought this was kind of a fun lil chart to make.
Dark gray lines are rivals, lighter gray is partners, light pink is besties, and darker pink is sweethearts.
Numbered lines were relationships that changed throughout the journey and their changes are directly stated because I thought the changes were interesting.
(Yes I'm still a little torn up about my boldur and bandicraft going from lovers to rivals. :P)
re: Beastieball discord is having a normal one
They also made this silly image and it's perfect lol
Beastieball discord is having a normal one
The Wishes Unlimited discord server opened up a discussion forum in anticipation for all of the things that people are going to be talking about when early access drops.
The first thread there was the rules for the forum and some general guidelines on helping people avoid spoilers.
The other thread? "Mold."
It's just been an entire group of people shouting about loving mold. At some point I made a joke about mold 2 and one of the admins changed the thread name, and I just have to imagine at this point anyone coming in and seeing the thread would just be like "what the hell is going on here" lmao
I finally beat Alien Soldier on superhard!
And not only did I beat it, my first clear was a 1CC!
I'm really happy with finally having done this - it's been kind of an on and off progress thing. :)
I've always thought Alien Soldier was a cool as hell game from when I used to watch speedruns of it, but when I finally got the chance to try it myself it was... inscrutable, haha. Going from that to being comfortable enough to beat it on superhard feels awesome.
obligatory post-50-cherries UFO 50 tier list
It is legally mandated that after you get all 50 cherries in UFO 50 that you have to make a tier list so I made one. Individual game titles are in the alt text, hopefully that's not a horrible idea with how much text that is lol.
The tiers themselves don't have any particular sorting other than their chronological order in game, so all of the S tier games are just generally S tier to me, and so on for each of the other tiers.
re: UFO 50, night manor (terminal code spoilers), ending spoilers
Okay, the gold ending is kind of incredible with this code on.
UFO 50, night manor (terminal code spoilers)
I did my first playthrough of Night Manor offline because the killer kind of added an element of dread that I didn't feel like dealing with while people were watching, but I feel a bit better about going back to it onstream now that I've beaten it and know what to do.
I'm *very* highly debating using the code OPEN-CAGE so that the killer looks like this, although that does maybe ruin the effect a little bit... the story is really good, and the killer looking like he does is kind of a big part of what makes it impactful. Maybe I'll do a playthrough normally but show this off briefly :P
UFO 50, star waspir
I fucking *did it* baby, this piece of shit shmup is behind me!!
This game got under my skin so much and it is fucking *behind* me now.
It's frustrating because the game is actually somewhat... compelling? Like, I could have just said "nah I'm good, game's shit" but every time I did, something somehow pulled me back to it despite all of the extremely rude design choices this game makes.
Honestly? If not for wave 3 being the hell it is, I could've put up with a lot of the bullshit, but wave 3 is so fucking egregious that all it took was two runs that made it past there to get the cherry. (I threw the first one because it didn't have enough points because I was playing too cautiously - turns out the game gives you a point penalty if you play too slow...)
UFO 50, Onion Delivery
I don't have the gold yet for Onion Delivery, but I managed to die on day 7 while reasonably on track for the 50 delivery requirement for the cherry.
Unfortunately, when I got to day 7, I hit a really rough route, leaving me no time left for overtime, and when I tried to just pull back into home for the gold, the sludge from the random event pushed me out of the way and into an oncoming car for my least heart, lmao.
I made a goofy blood on the clocktower script
It's called "Spiders at the Goblin Store" and the main focus of this is being a teensyville script (meant for 5 or 6 players instead of a full sized game of 7+) where the demon gets to pick who and what their minion is.
Normally, this size of game means the demon does not know who their minion is or vice versa, but since the demon picks who it is, this gives them the ability to reasonably coordinate!
But watch out! One of the outsiders is the Lunatic! You might get the demon token but actually be a good player who only *thinks* they're evil!
If you're the real demon, though, once you pick a minion, you get to decide whether it's more important for you to have a bulletproof bluff and know what everyone's roles are by picking the Widow, or if you want to cause a bit of a ruckus and bring a Goblin into the mix.
Good has what I feel is probably a neat mix of roles - a bit of first night info, some ongoing, and some who do want to or don't want to be targeted by the demon.
I ran this a bit tonight, and it wound up being such a fun time that the players I ran it for wanted to do more games with it in the future and that felt nice to hear. :)
