Gaming, industrial heat-lamp warmed take, (CW: caps get used)
Jedi Fallen Order was doing everything right so far as I've seen,
But I can't play as a woman.
COME ON! ITS 20-fucking-19 FOR FUCK'S SAKE!
This shouldn't even be a thing anymore. 2 different models, silent protagonist. Fallout 3 figured this out back in 2008.
This is not fucking hard. Its just a decision by now. A "stupid-ass decision"
And yeah, i might be the slowest husky to this. Sorry.
@Alistor You know, I'd almost by that, but weren't you allowed to be a woman in the SW: KOTR games? I mean, granted those came out before The Mouse bought Lucasfilm, so things might've changed.
And even so, that's still a bullshit reason.
@kelseyhusky Seeing how before Darth Mouse came along there were SIX grades of canon going from what was in the movies down to "What-if" scenarios. Now it's what is officially out is officially canon. KOTOR would have been somewhere in the middle where lore could be easily contradicted.
Doesn't make this decision any less poopy though!
re: Gaming, industrial heat-lamp warmed take, (CW: caps get used)
@zx3 @kelseyhusky This is almost certainly a cost-savings measure. Otherwise you'd have an expectation for a full character creator, I guess?
This game is already an experiment (a non-service AAA game from EA) so I guess they had to cut corners where they could.
I'm mostly interested in if the combat is as Soulsian at higher difficulties as I've heard.

@kelseyhusky wait that makes no sense, about a third of the Force sensitives in all media have been women.
@kelseyhusky Doesn’t even need to be silent! EA pulled this off in four Mass Effect games since 2007! It’s probably some Disney BS about having strict lore guidelines now so they don’t want anything to be fuzzy, even the gender of it’s totally average looking protagonist.
