It is hard to watch Black Poetry on Youtube. For some reason, whenever I try, someone starts cutting onions and rubs them into my eyes.

2020 and its related misery will /not/ last forever. Here are some things I am planning once we can be outside and with people again:

-Getting high in a park with my boyfriend.
-Fixing my bike and biking to the bustop to go to work
-Swimming. Oh my god, swimming. I want to murder the politicians that fucked up everything and cancelled All-Gender Swim this summer.

I'm probably still gonna wear my mask though. I kinda like it, actually. I wish there was a really good and easy way of ordering custom masks so I could specify ear loop length and style, face shield size and design, filter ports, metal nose strip, and exterior graphic.

(I'd settle for being able to get something like a PoC Ahegao mouth, tho.)

@Motodrachen The next year in 2045, herds of pregnant mares are released on automated drone barges originating from the cloning facilities built into the now-melted polar icepacks. All of them have had trans-fem flags braided into their manes. The mares give birth and are allowed to recover, following the included manual. 9 months later, stallions used to impregnate the mares are likewise released with trans-masc flags in their tails. Tit-Tacs and TPpods start production the next month.

Called mom after work last tnight to let her know I watched the stream. We bantered for a little bit. Got called a wonderful son, again.

And then I asked: "Mom, are you okay with me? I know there's at least one more conversation we need to have, but I'm not ready for it.

and she said "I'm working on it. Take all the time you need."

Hard to read that. Not sure if she's actually struggling or if she's waiting for me to get my thumb out and just have the name/pronoun declaration.

@minty_da This is mine because frequently I will hit a certain point in a project where I stop caring about being clever or efficient, and I am reduced to maximum effort brute-force solutions. Not pretty, it puts a lot of physical strain on my body, and it turns me into kind of a bitch. I don't like it and I'm working on it, but sometimes it has been the only thing that has save the day.

@minty_da Done: No status effects can be applied. No special moves can be used. No damage is taken. Maximum possible non-crit damage is applied. Effect ends with combat, where HP is reduced to 1, MP is drained. Party speed is reduced to half speed dragging me around until healing and saving is completed at nearest reachable save location.

Today is my parents 40th anniversary. They renewed their vows at church, who livestreamed the event, and had a song pre-recorded by my little cousin who actually won a record deal on one of those American-Idol type shows.

Everyone was maintaining social distance, and most people actually watched the stream.

i didn't get to hear everything Mom and Dad said cause they wouldn't talk into the mic and the person running the sound screwed up where I wouldn't have.

But it was still nice to see my parent still getting along, wiping their eyes, and still in love with each other.

I learned how to love from my dad (and a few relationship books I read as a kid trying to improve my odds in getting this wonderful thing I'd heard about called a girlfriend) I don't think I figured it all out, but he never missed noticing a hair cut, never forgot Mother's day or their anniversary; Only missed 1 birthday, and then came up with a completely new day (flowers on the first day of spring) that he never forgot to make up for it, and kept that up too. Gestures and sentiment might not be everything, but after 40 years, I think he's at worst not wrong about them.

I can't imagine what I'll feel about my relationships in 40 years, but I hope I get to experience love and commitment that last that long too.
