Switching to an all-terrain, climate-sealed platform with on-board hot chocolate reserve tank, and higher resistance wiring for better internal component heating.

Ahhhhhhh! Much better!

Does anyone remember the Real Sex series on HBO? They had at least 32 episodes (I'm guessing, cause I have episodes 32 and 13) and they were a series of 1 hour multi-segment documentaries on human sexuality. Titilation was unavoidable, especially when they talked about things that are supposed to be titilating, but I feel like the intent was more on a normalization and education course. And I realized that there's probably no way something like that could be on the air. Not these days, I don't think.

CW: Orthocosm, censorship, capitalism #mademethink, Engadget link

Came across this in my firehose of RSS feeds and it made me full of thinks and some sads, and I really hope that there are enough of people around my age that are taking the chance to work into the places where decisions like this were made and doing their best to change them when they can

My next tattoos:
1. A burly looking cyberjack on the back of my neck, like the ones from the Matrix.
2. The pulsar map showing Earth's location off of the Golden Discs from The Voyager probes.

re: Starfarer's Sacrament (text transcription)

In ages past we looked above and gazed upon the stars,
And wondered whether we could live on Luna or on Mars;
Today we fly that starry night and blessed are those who know
The hallowed names and faces of the men who made it so.

[Yuri] might not be some say the first into the Black,
But none deny the truth that he's the first to make it back.
We look to good old Yuri as the patron of our race;
Humanity's protector in this vast and outer space.

[Neil] knew it was his duty to use NASA's mighty boon
And take [The Giant] leap on man's behalf up to the Moon.
Now colonists and settlers look to Neil for peace of mind
On having made the choice to leave their homeworld far behind.

[Buzz] was a mighty pilot and just may have been the best,
But more, he was [The Dreamer] seeing far beyond the rest.
With name dear to the hearts of anyone who's grabbed the helm,
We thank Buzz for the future he foresaw our starry realm.

[Michael] chose himself a role that most men could not take:
Crewed his command module [Loner] for Eleven's mission's sake.
When a 'farer's flying solo and their ship is far from home
They can trust that Michael's with them and they're never quite alone.

[John] may have never gone to space but hallowed is his name;
Without his [Steely Eye] Apollo would've died in flame.
His brilliant troubleshooting saved Man's place among the stars,
Now 'farers pray to Johnny as our helpful friend afar.

[Jim] took the role of captain on Thirteen's unlucky flight
And without him as [The Leader] they'd be lost unto the night.
We often think of Jim's example when we're facing matters grave,
For he taught us to be calm, to be resourceful, to be brave.

[Georgy, Vladislav and Victor] earned their solemn, holy place
And will always be [Remembered] as the first to die in space.
When our fellows go to join them they would tell us not to cry
But to drink a shot and know they're in that bright and starry sky.

[Laika] was a mongrel, who had more than shown her worth
As [The Loyal] friend of Man who proved that we could leave the Earth.
Now the shipboard pets and critters that we choose to share our days
Are all guarded and protected under Laika's watchful gaze.

Whenever we break atmosphere, we call out to two more,
For whom we beg to see our much beloved home once more.
Whose crews did burn like novae where the Earth's blue fades to black;
To [Challenger] when setting out, [Columbia] when back.

We lift a glass to those who laid our path into the sky;
A solemn prayer in thanks before into the black we fly.
We ask you to watch over us whenever we are sent
And offer up our voices in a 'Farer's Sacrament.

Space disasters, personal

"Whenever we break atmosphere, we call out to two more

Space is not safe. I am so proud to be living at a time when we can both understand the risks, and dedicate our best and brightest to mitigating what we can, and accepting those left over in the hopes of better understanding our world, our universe, and our place in it.

Per aspera ad astra,
Ex astris, scientia

Good lift and safe landing to you all.

Gen: Lock is so good, y'all. It is totally the perfect stepstool for me to get back up on my bullshit.

There are so many things that i think I could kick ass at if I just dedicated myself to them, but then I wouldn't have time to do any of the other stuff i think is fun and cool. So i just sit and stew in my own self-inflicted frustration cause I can't make myself hit that commit button on anything.

Sometimes I really hate my brain and wish it would just get over itself.

Updating: got some really good advice from a co-worker on how to be more proactive. Makes mee feel better about the manager 1v1 on Monday.

Man, no-notice 1v1 requests from any manger always gives me huge spikes in my anxiety levels. Especially when they give me the whole weekend to stew over it.

[broadcast of high frequency, low amplitude despair filled static]

Good morning everyone! I love you so much and I hope your day is wonderful! Remember that you are beautiful! and valid! *hugs* ❤️❤️❤️🐿️🌺

All i wanted was to not get paged tonight.

I really, really don't like being on call. It would be nice to get a job where it doesn't happen.

No wonder i was feeling crappy. Reactor fuel was super low since I missed my fueling cycle last night

My even generator is out of service today. No ETA on repair or replacement. Thank you for your patience and I apologize for any inconvenience or hardship my exhaustion has caused. Updates will be sent as soon as I have more information. *powers down*

Putting awoo down for the night. sleep well, friend.

CW: Shitpost (maybe? I don't have much experience doing this sort of thing). You don't know what we can find, Why don't you come with me, little girl,

On a magic gender ride.

Need to run some diagnostics on my charging cradle. Recharge cycle kept getting interrupted every two hours. But nothing got left in the logs, so troubleshooting is gonna be a bitch.

Hard to do the work when you don't have enough charge, but it's gotta get done.

C'mon AXIOS: Let's get this bread, y'all.
