So this new article showed up on The Register today:

TL;DR NPM fired folks for trying to improve working conditions and talking about unionizing. Blatantly illegally. Union busting companies don't usually settle with the employees. That tells me this was egregious.

@chr @tastymochafox if i could follow off-server-whitelist, and we could see each other’s posts if we were mutuals (but maybe the rest of server federation didn’t work), my UX issues as a regular user would go away.
And imo, it would be a lot easier for servers to use whitelist mode without that stumbling block. maybe someday!

I like some of the results, but it’s super unfriendly too. I assume there’s some technical reason why users couldn’t follow outside the main list (ie, add their own mini-whitelists)?
