@codl it was a very Unicodey idea, but the belief that we want lots of different pictures (for what is, experiencewise, something selected *as a picture*) is totally unhelpful.
Sometimes I wish on mastodon I could force a “native” emoji to “web mode” just so it has a standard picture.
