What does "butch" mean to you? I've had two separate people close to me call me by that label in a week, which I found pretty surprising.
@starkatt That's... wow. Hunh. I'm going to have to think about that one. It's not really a go-to word in my vocab, and I only really ever use it as a modifier on "lesbian" to indicate masculine presentation, but that's so far out of whack with the rest of my internal model that I don't know that I have a working definition that I like or endorse. Sitting here, I realized "this is probably what's meant," but I'm also not super-happy with that frame.
@starkatt Like, it's not something I would generally use these days and realizing how I would've used it, I'm kind of disappointed in past me.
