Counting the beats in the music to which you listen as a reflexive behaviour pattern because not knowing the time signature of a piece of music causes mental itchiness. Or because doing so is its own form of stimming.

Also, having a favourite time signature and taking delight in discovering new music that uses it.

@literorrery I get that itchy thing too. It's part of why I love Dave Brubeck--he wrote in all kinds of cool meters.

And did you know the first part of Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells is in alternating 4/4 and 7/8?

@literorrery I don't directly count things but I do instinctively notice the electronic/trance beats with measure changes in 4, 8, 16, and 24 intervals.
