Semi-serious question for the fediverse. If I were looking for a _cheap_ digital video camera that isn't going to shatter under my meaty talons, how much should I expect to spend, are there model recommendations I should look into or shy away from, and how many minutes of uninterrupted video can I expect to squeeze out of one with or without attaching to a computer?

As I somewhat remembered, it is something to hold the phone, a tripod to keep it in place, and a mic to get better sound quality from it and you have a vlogging setup.
It appears if you don't buy things too specifically you might be able to upgrade to a DSLR and use the same tripod and mic.
@literorrery My understanding that vlogging can be started with a good phone type device with some accessories for better audio and stabilization. The next step up is a DSLR of some form.
