I dislike stories with loose adherence to internal consistency because as someone on whom others rely for financial and social stability, I feel obligated to follow my own world's orthocosmic success paths despite longing to strike out on alternative paths. As a writer, I long for worlds in which the orthocosmically successful paths are reflective of more happiness and emotional fulfillment than my own.

Also, if you don't have anything that's gonna give you that five-minute start, that's okay. I understand depression, not from the inside, but from someone very dear to me whose life I've seen scarred by it. The struggle is real and I see how hard it is. Give it a day, a week, a month, a year, your whole life if that's what it takes to find that five-minute thing. Maybe it won't stick. I know that sucks. As long as you're looking, that's what matters. Don't give up. I believe in you.

Also this morning, i've made chocolate pancakes with marmalade drizzle and I'm feeling really good about life right now. Sure, there's a lot of shit out there, but if you can find one thing that will get you through the next five minutes, that's five minutes you've got to find another thing. You can chain those things as long as you need to chain them, as long as you can get that five minute head-start.
