@Momentrabbit I find that most developers write code that assume that everything will have been going to plan up until that point at every point, which means that once one thing has gone wrong, the likelihood of more things going wrong goes up sharply.

Most users intuit this quickly. Most software, sadly, does not.

So, I can confirm -- I think -- that the weed is not the cause of my current suffering. Last night i didn't have any and this morning my cough is worse, and now there's a headache to go with it and the sinus pressure.

One of my coworkers says there's a "summer cold" going around. If so, I probably have it. Be warned. UNCLEAN! UNCLEAN! Sand baths and mitespray for everyone.

It's not a very nice place and a lot of people are suffering.

We need everyone we can muster who can shed some visage of false humanity to embrace their inner light and heat and fire, to find the winds and waves and spires and depths that dwell within us, to help share those dreams not just with each other but with everyone who can't yet imagine what it could be like to imagine life not as human, not as capitalist hell.

@Phorm You are not inherently evil, Phorm. I don't believe in evil and I don't believe in innate morality. I believe that we have the lower and the obligation to decide for ourselves who we are, why we're here, where we're going, and what we hope to leave in our wake. We're more than the roles our world carved out for us, and if we don't fit those molds, it's the world's fault for presuming, not ours for not being grateful. We didn't ask to be here.

@Phorm You state your complicit role in the system as though you had some special agency, some genie-like capacity for self-direction that others here lack which makes your participation in late-stage capitalism somehow more uniquely damning than others'. Are you signing transfer orders to Dachau and not telling us? If not, then please don't take more of a burden than you _must_ because of what your life situation demands of you.

@Phorm It's more complicated than that, as these things tend to be.

If you were genuinely happy in your situation -- if you genuinely seemed to believe what you say here -- then I would lay strong odds that you wouldn't fight as hard as you do to convince yourself that it's worth it, and I doubt you'd be beating yourself up as visibly you do because you clearly aren't happy and it clearly isn't working.
