Now I guess I'll be determining what our next steps will be. Kelly's new job offers insurance thankfully -- and seems like it might last for a long while, so maybe that's the answer-- just let the insurance end when it does.
I'm emotionally exhausted, and it's only half way through the week. But at least the weekend looks exciting. A celebration of glowy things and visit to friends in Port Orchard may be just what I need to recharge a bit. ♥️

She and I had a very long talk and kind of vented about the situation. At the end of the day, it didn't change anything, but at least I have the satisfaction of knowing my complaints were heard verbatim by the person at the head of making decisions about benefits for the company -- so at least I know I've done all I can do at this point.

It's been a hard day. I spent much of it on the phone with various people from Vista Outdoor Inc.'s HR department, voicing various complaints about their policy to not let domestic partners share an employee's health coverage.
The last call of the day was with the HR rep that used to be the director of HR for the previous company.

It's now time to see if the "Diversity & Inclusion Council" at my company is just a façade or not.
Work Venting
Today is also a shit show for various reasons related to the old parent company's IT department not communicating with the new one, but that's not what I want to bitch about right now.
My partner may be dropped from my health insurance policy because my workplace hired a 3rd party auditor to verify dependents, and they require BOTH a marriage license and proof of co-ownership of property to verify a dependent spouse.
Company policy counts domestic partnerships. I'm extremely angry.

@jk Your beautiful charts broke D:
Update on work: everything still broken, now also on fire
Last paragraph of the last ticket update I sent:
"I’m sorry for being so agitated, but my team has spent almost the whole day now on this issue and we’re in far worse shape now than we were when we first reported it. If we had not contacted <PROVIDER> support at all and instead asked our infrastructure team just to route all DNS to the webservers directly, all of our sites would be up right now."
Dragony plush thing! Friendly, non-binary, anarcho-syndicalist, ace.
