Remember:
You are the only one in the world like you. You are important -- you matter -- just by virtue of bearing that unique vision into the universe.
I'm glad you're here. I hope you stay with us as long as you can.
The world can a scary place, full of loudness and anger, but it can be beautiful, and it's moreso because you're part of it.
Be good to yourself, please. There's nobody in the world who can replace you, and you have so much light to share just by virtue of being you.
Daily Tarot
While shuffling my deck, two cards fell out.
First: The Magician, again.
I am in control of my will. I can direct my energy to affect positive change.
Second: The V of Wands.
I cannot imagine a more apt card for the situation at hand.
I think the cards are firmly encouraging me to take a firm stand here. If there were any question about whether or not The Golden Thread deck and I were getting along well... this evidence should make that clear. XD
Family Transphobia [3/3]
I realized that I've never had a relationship with her that wasn't carefully guarded and exclusively on her terms. I would only be allowed to have a relationship with her so long as it didn't make the people around her uncomfortable.
Fuck. That.
I'm not going to take these insults quietly and just fade out of her life at the cost of my happiness just so she doesn't have to face the guilt of being a bigot.
That ends tonight.
Wish me luck.
Family Transphobia [2/3]
She hasn't told me this herself yet. I took the bull by the horns and reached out directly. I have a call scheduled with her tonight.
In that call, I intend to point out that she is either a coward for not confronting her son's bigotry, or is herself a bigot and too "polite" to be honest about it.
I expected more from her. She's a lesbian; the only out gay person on my side of the family. She fought for me when I was younger, but she clearly never respected me.
Family Transphobia [1/3]
I found out from my little sister yesterday that my sister in Minneapolis is getting married in a 2 months... and I'm not invited.
The reason appears to be her son (my nephew), who, upon hearing about my transition 12 years ago, told her that he never wanted to see or speak to me again. She asked that I respect his wishes and is now choosing not to invite me as a result of them.
a garage is full of weirdos ranging from 11 to sixty-some years old standing around listening intently as another of the weirdos explains how the new floppy drive in his hand manages to fit over a megabyte on each disk. he cites sector layout diagrams, points out some of the bits of engineering he appreciates the most, and then connects it to an open box of computer parts on the table and flips a large red switch. a cheer erupts as the drive shows signs of life before the CRT has even warmed up.
Dragony plush thing! Friendly, non-binary, anarcho-syndicalist, ace.
