@Felthry pretty sure that's made up to kinda sounds like latin, it's just a few lines repeating and they don't really sound like Japanese
also there's no lyrics on the internet anywhere which supports that
@noiob it doesn't sound very much like latin at all really, too many open syllables (which is what made me think it might be japanese, the language the game was originally released in and also a language noted for having a lot of open syllables)
@Felthry any fake lyrics written by Japanese people who aren't like, linguists is gonna have a lot of open syllables
@noiob good point
@noiob I will note, though, that as someone who knows Latin, it sounds nothing like Latin. Perhaps it sounds more Latin-esque to someone who isn't intimately familiar with Latin though
@Felthry any chanting will sound like Latin to a layperson tbh, and I had Latin in school
@noiob fair enough, guess I just notice these things
@Felthry I'm guessing there was never a soundtrack release (or at least none with lyrics in the booklet)
@noiob There was definitely a soundtrack release, I have a digital copy of it
it might not have had lyrics printed in it though, yeah
do they normally print lyrics in music releases? we have only ever had approximately two pieces that even had lyrics that we liked at all so
@Felthry afaik most pop music comes with a booklet with the lyrics, I don't know about game soundtracks… I guess most don't have lyrics
@Felthry fwiw the NieR Automata soundtrack came with the lyrics for their music (but only for the music that doesn't use a made-up language)
