why is it so hard to connect a ps3 controller to a pc anyway

maybe we should look into getting a thing to connect a ps2 controller, wired is always easier

did sony ever make an official dualshock 2 to usb adapter, for using ps2 controllers with a ps3 or something?

@Felthry they made a memory card adapter which could theoretically work

the Dualshock 3 is a pain to get to work with non-Sony devices, the best luck I had was with the 8bitdo stick and their special pairing software

@noiob A memory card adapter to connect a controller??

@Felthry memory cards and controllers use the same pins on PS1 and PS2

@noiob also our local used game store had one of those memory card adapters in stock last we were there, but they wanted like $50 for it

@Felthry yeah not saying it's worth it, aftermarket Dualshock-USB adapters are dirt cheap

@Felthry and I'm not saying the memory card adapter will actually work, but it would only need software and an adapter between the plug shapes

@noiob oh, I see

yeah they're definitely not the same connector shape

didn't know they had the same pinout though, that's a weird decision for them to make

@noiob @Felthry the DS3 works great out of the box on Linux but I’m not gonna suggest switching OSes over a controller

ScpServer is pretty user-unfriendly to get to work, but once I set it up it worked fine for me though

@Siphonay @Felthry ah right there's actually software to just write a mac address to it, I haven't done that in a while

@Siphonay @Felthry used to do it all the time to switch between my Macbook and my PSP Go
