anyone have any tips for removing library stickers from books? it's a paperback book with a glossy cover if that affects anything, and i'm only looking to remove the stickers on the outside; there's an RFID anti-theft sticker on the inner cover covering a bit of the artwork but I don't think we could remove that without damaging the book

@Felthry hm, try to carefully soak the sticker with alcohol? though I'd check if the gloss is affected by alcohol

@Felthry Lazy Game Reviews did a really good video on how he cleans stickers off old game boxes, lemme check that

@Felthry ah, he recommends Goo Gone as a substance that removes glue without affecting the surface underneath

@noiob I feel like an electrical engineer's hot air gun is probably not the correct tool for the job, hah

I know that's not what you meant but it came to mind since that's the hot air source we have easiest access to (don't own a hairdryer), but it's designed to get hot enough to melt solder and I don't think it can be turned down to below 200 or 250 celsius or thereabouts

@Felthry I guess you could hold it further away and only blow short bursts of heat
