@clarfonthey gg also has a different meaning. You wouldn't say "good game" to concede a match, for instance, you'd say "gg"
@noiob yeah, although that has to do more generally with the way we use written internet speech to convey formality
like GG can be an abbreviation for "get good" but I'd argue that's not the intent here, it's just stating it as a formality in the same way people say "thanks" for things they don't actually like

@noiob that also makes sense given how multinational the starcraft community is, since it's just a formality and the underlying English meaning isn't as useful
