@fireh9lly FL Studio is the DAW i use

pros: it has support for some live performance stuff; once you buy it you have lifetime free updates; i find it very nice to use in general

cons: hard to change tempo precisely with automation; it's literally the only professional daw i've ever used so idk how it actually stacks up for live stuff

keyboards and midi controllers are also good investments obvi, but i haven't used many of them

@typhlosion @fireh9lly I've got an MPK Mini Mk2, which seems pretty popular for very portable midi controller without like, being ridiculously expensive (ymmv there, ofc, but "for a midi controller").

I use it a lot, kinda to the exclusion of my larger Livekey 49 (which is nice, shiny, versatile, but heavy & bulky), but that's more accessibility stuff at home and my setup than uh, performing live (which I have 0 exp. with)!

Still, it's a good little keyboard, if little keyboard be what ye seek
