Monster Culture, Trans History, Queerness
I think this post is an important piece of trans history more ppl should know about: [CW Suicide, Transphobia, Medicalization] http://takingsteps.blogspot.com/2007/01/seam-of-skin-and-scales.html
This piece is very dear to me also.. For similar reasons, and along similar lines, though not trans-specific. (sorry, I can''t find a non-image pdf of it hosted freely atm): https://www.englishwithtuttle.com/uploads/3/0/2/6/30266519/cohen_monster_culture__seven_theses__3-20.pdf
Bookpooptooting; Booptooting (Shades of Magic, Bk2)
I've just started reading A Gathering of Shadows
We're barely out of the starting gates and Lilah has already fallen in with another "aristo but like rebellious about it" mystery magic boy
After ending book 1 declaring her independent free spirit by not hanging around mystery magic boy v1.0 (in his favour, Kel had a way cooler coat. this lad's just got a pirate ship, smdh)
Someone save this poor woman from her terrible life choices

UK Trans Question, NHS,
So like
After surgery and the GRC was done I got discharged, never heard from the GIC again, etc
Now a few years later, I'm wondering. Cuz.. US trans people apparently see an endo every once in a while? And that sounds.. Uh, sensible?
But this is the NHS, so.. I imagine doing so over here would involve getting re-referred, put back on the waiting list, etc.
Does anyone have any experience of longterm/post-transition trans healthcare under the NHS? Is that a thing that.. Exists, structurally at all?
re: Sleepy Foucault Posting: Cultural Discourse of Sexuality, Transphobia, Institutional Psychology {Tri}
I mean, look at Blanchard's regime in Canada, and tell me he wasn't an institutionally-endorsed sex abuser, whose role within the institution was to not only police trans people, but to force us to internalise *self-policing* as habitual background behaviour before access to transition resources (incl. legal & social validation and protection) was granted by the state.
This policing centred around the erasure of trans identities and trans sexualities via imposing a medicalized framework of power, both external power, and that which is drilled into the subject's self-narrative and self-beliefs by the institution
