Am here. Not been around much because [MH, -] but yknow

Anyway that's been hitting focus stuff pretty hard so I'm kinda lost in something entirely or not at all

Not ignoring you folks. You're good and appreciated.

A substantial amount of my time atm is still focusing on painting minis, tbf

But we're both "comfortable chilling out doing own thing alongside someone else doing their thing" people

So it's all good

I have not been social much online orz

I have not forgotten you all, I'm just like

K's here for this time and then back in the US for a year

Been playing a lot of Frostgrave while K's over. It's a lot of fun as a kinda spiritual successor to Mordheim. Definitely glad to hear Frostgrave 2 is giving the rules/balance an update in 2020, that'll be rad.

That's just the indoor/private area fwiw, nowhere near the actual size space they live in. The male chose not to come in for food and hung around the big outdoor enclosure to eat later instead. Apparently the female is a lot more sociable though. She hung around the indoor area for ages after food was clearly over, just chilling out and watching us and the keepers.

We got to feed a sneppard

It was a pretty amazing life experience

She was very enthusiastic about food and then just super-chill

Hey everyone, sorry I've not been around online much lately. Partner is over from the US, so spending time together while he's here.

hi everyone

I'm.. Idk, spacy. Here. Laying down.

Hiiiiii.. *tired wingwave*

yknow, side-shielded non-sunglasses would be pretty useful for like

not being quite so overwhelmed in crowded spaces where I need to focus on something

🤔

boardgame/trek nerding

It's the only game (digital or traditional) I've found that captures the feel of Star Trek

Like, the sheer variety of it allows for a lot of weird spontaneous situations and very different games

You can have ones that are absolute battles, or where no combat happens at all, and you're pootling around the galaxy discovering weird stuff and building starbases. All the while getting weird situations happening, like Mirror Universe Reginald Barclay rescuing the Klingon flagship from a black hole, or Kes as a Romulan double agent planting Tribbles on the Defiant

Managed to introduce a friend to Star Trek: Fleet Captains today. It's my favourite boardgame, but I rarely get a chance to play it with people. She really enjoyed it a lot too, so we'll probably do that again sometime.

Mini Painting, Fantasy

Really proud of how this one turned out!

Mini is the Reaper Miniatures Shipwreck Golem, with a bit of conversion to fix the right arm and make the treasure pile.

silly wargaming smut

There are many reasons to love Frostgrave

But seeing wargaming stalls stock a book about hyena furries, called "Into the Breeding Pits"

That never gets old, really

Copying Helm's Deep into your fantasy setting, aka "Anyway, here's Wonderwall."

(Total War: Warhammer 2)

I should really set up a posty-place for my mini painting again. I used to have a Tumblr for such things, but.. Tumblr.

Getting back into painting Dungeon Saga after a couple of years of health issues & focusing on other things hobbywise. Orks aren't done yet, but they're coming along orkily.

Shipwreck Golem is by Reaper Miniatures. Almost complete now. ;w; The little stowaway octopus is by far my favourite part.

re: Wheelchairs, Venting, Info Request

Guh

If I had the energy skills & hardware to make secure custom mountings (for the brakes and the handles) I could just install some standard-ass caliper brakes

(like the ones on any roadbike, ever)

I however lack these things

So the formal options seem to be "buy some reeeeal expensive ones from Texas, including ditching my current wheel setup for buying their wheels"

or switch to some kinda electric wheelchair or electric hybrid setup (also expensive, a lot heavier)

Or the informal gamble of asking around the local hackspace to hire a random bike-modding enthusiast

Cuz I like self-propelling, but grip strength is not something I will ever be at the required level for "just grab the wheelrims with yr hands lol" to be reliable/safe/not-massively-painful
