the "gifted kid burnout" is caused by that change from structure to unstructure, and that adapting to that dramatic change is really, *really* hard for neuroatypical folk like myself

somethin im learnin is that being a gifted kid at school was like... primarily a result of massive bullying and primarily a result of just Being Intelligent, and that now that i'm out in the world and everything's unstructured i've kinda been led to believe that everyone will mock me if given the chance and that vast wealth of knowledge is useful only as trivia
