To everyone's surprise, Toot! v17.0 is out!
This is the first in a series of releases that implement support for new Mastodon features. More will come in the near future, but this version offers:
* Full support for all new types of notifications in Mastodon 4.0, including admin notifications.
* Updated to use more modern versions of various iOS functionality. As a result, however, the minimum supported iOS version is now 13.
* Bugfixes.

There’s all this fighting over where “everyone should go,” people making all kinds of value judgments about one service over another, one posting style or another, and so. Much. Drama.
FFS, people. Use the service you like, or no service at all. Social media is not musical chairs where you have to jump on one before the music stops. None of it is permanent, almost all of it is half-baked, and every system that has or will exist is going to be gamed to cause harm by bad actors.

@ZiaMacPine maybe it's a generational thing? To me, growing up, the block button meant "I wish for you to rot in hell". If I just wanted to not see anyone anymore, I'd just mute them. They'd never know, and I would never have to hear from them again.

I'm so glad Mastodon doesn't show likes... this was always so heart wrenching. I was guilty of it myself, but this place doesn't seem to call for it. It's got a much better vibe.
