Mention of Hard Drugs
On a Different Social Network someone I went to school said that she's annoyed because she gave vague instructions for her to "clean my bedroom up" before leaving on a three month trip to travel the world and when she came back she found her personal assistant has organized all her cocaine into spice jars.
I don't understand rich people.
Foodcrime
I am likely to just buy more pie tins.
Because of course I need more kitchen things that I use once a year.
@anthracite (looks up thing) It's the Clockwork Century series, and of the major novels 2 are set in Seattle and 1 in New Orleans. It's one of the few steampunk series I like partially because it's not about society and fancy dinners and gentlemen adventurers or whatever. It's mostly about disgraced widows, whores, and pirates fighting zombies (and worse!). Definitely recommend it.
@anthracite Have you read the Cherie Priest series about steampunk zombies? One of the books is set mostly in New Orleans I think.

Angry and Sad Things
@ElectricKeet Yeah right now the rate at which crap comes in is much higher than the rate crap is dealt with and I literally cannot afford more therapy so.
@KitRedgrave@glitch.social @mawr I think I leveled up in transness like six times since I went on there.
@mawr I had that same feeling when I first encountered it, which was through /r/latestagegenderbinary because that too is a thing.

Work Vent
This is actually somewhat hilarious because my strongest known biases are against people like Dude and it totally showed up when I was evaluating Dude during his interview. We hired him anyway because all the other candidates accepted better offers.
(This is actually not hilarious because Dude is one of the people I report to and this was during a meeting about how we can hire more people who aren't white.)
Work Vent
When I said that I do not make hiring decisions without input from my team because I know that I have internalized biases, and experience and research have shown that they come in despite our best efforts, Dude (cis white straight man) told me that I am just underselling myself.
He thinks that learning from my past mistakes and listening to others to overcome my own flaws are weaknesses and symptoms of impostor syndrome.
@Sparrow Mine is more like 20/40/40. Still love it tho.
@paralithode Had a rotating LCD monitor for work once. It was *amazing* as a secondary monitor.
