Should work on job search but I really don't know how to actually do that outside of applying to shit on craigslist, which is like the worst way to actually get hired?

How does networking work :|

Trying to work on job stuff would be a lot easier if the idea of cold-calling the union didn't fill me with anxiety.

I was like 90% of the way through the application process for apprenticeships with them (which took MONTHS) and I bailed at the very end when they required some surprise extra hoops to jump through that I didn't expect. I felt like I couldn't ask for that time off of work.

It was the wrong choice, and I knew at the time it was the wrong choice, but I was too frustrated and just walked away. I should have just quit that current job instead.

I'm really mad at myself about that, honestly.

And my partner tried really, really hard to convince me to finish the process and I was too upset to listen.

@starkatt Does the IBEW do anything useful for you along those lines?

@mcmoots It's complicated? Their admittance program for apprentices is a pain in the ass. Definitely one of the routes I'm looking into though.

@starkatt wasn't the problem of networking supposed to have been solved with Linkedin? </joking>
