HRT question

@Eve@witches.town @Angle@witches.town Wait, where is that? I've never heard of that option in the States.

HRT question

@Eve@witches.town (from the US) yep, I pick up my meds in pill form and take 'em at home. Per day: 6mg estradiol, 200mg spironolactone (it's a mediocre antiandrogen but the most commonly proscribed one here), and as of recently 100mg progesterone.

You can also get estrogen via weekly intramuscular injections (and allegedly it works better that way). Those are also generally self-administered at home.

Hope that helps?

Between every visit, I forget that Boston is actually a gorgeous city. The light is really nice here.

@tcql@octodon.social I want to see a story about how we have the zombie fantasy as a way of wishing for enacting violence without consequences.

Okay, in fairness I am now Rather Wet and wish I had a change of pants handy. The rain intensified!

Show thread

People in Boston react very differently to rain than people in Seattle. Everyone here is popping umbrellas or literally wrapping themselves in plastic bags, and I'm like "sure, okay."

@starkatt on the phone keyboards, usually a long press on the emoji will pop up a skin tone and apply it across. 👧🏻 Desktop I don't know

I want to be using the emoji skin tone modifiers but I can't figure out how either on my phone or on most pop-up emoji keyboards on desktop :/

Just finished reading Story of Your Life. It's good!

Having read it also makes me more impressed with Arrival as an adaptation. The film emphasized a very different set of beats than the story, and it really payed off.

but soft, what typh through yonder window breaks

it's me. i'm soft

Whoops I went to bed too early and now I'm awake again 🙃

@what@mastodon.social If you want a fun way to get really in-depth knowledge of the mechanics and physics of spaceflight, consider playing Kerbal Space Program :)

@what@mastodon.social @nire@witches.town Right, there's not a cutoff, just a point where it's thin enough that people go "eh okay I guess we'll call this Space".

@what@mastodon.social What to you mean by "leaving the atmosphere"? There's ground-based video of rockets super high. The key thing to look for is the exhaust plume -- if it spreads out in a bell or expanding cone, there isn't much air around.
There's also some really cool long exposure photographs of night launches where you can see the rocket path all the way to the horizon.

Hey, some folks have figured out how to spin text in toots. That's fine, but if the portion you're spinning leaves the display region then it starts taking on a strobe effect and might be an epilepsy trigger.

Therefore, please hide your spinning text behind content warnings.
