here’s what I love about language: Galaxy Brain is an adjective now

I want a ceiling with stars on it.

Alas, rented house.

Tabletop Gaming Hot Take

@adeptomega that context helps me understand where you're coming from a lot better.

@mawr that's exactly the kind of reaction I was hoping for :)

Tabletop Gaming Hot Take

@adeptomega although on consideration, those arguably are borderline falling outside the umbrella of "gaming".

Tabletop Gaming Hot Take

@adeptomega Hmm. Maybe we're thinking of different categories of thing? I'm thinking of the whole genre of story-driven oneshot systems that are designed around deeply exploring a particular emotional or interpersonal topic. (See: basically everything published by Buried Without Ceremony.) Those can often say everything they need to in 3-4 hours, and tbh playing longer than that is something I'd find emotionally exhausting a lot of the time.

@adeptomega What about systems that are designed to be one-shots, with campaign play being secondary and optional?

I'd actually be fairly irritated if someone described me as falling under the category "spiritual but not religious".

Like, sure, I don't follow any one tradition or god or pantheon or structured practice. To me though, whatever this thing I have is, it still very much feels like it falls under the umbrella of "religion".

To describe my beliefs as "spiritual but not religious" feels like making "organized" a defining feature of religion, which, no.

Hahahaahahaha holy shit. Hiveway is a fork of Mastodon with blockchain slapped on top, selling ICO tokens, and John McAfee is involved. Wew lad

Visited Ravenna Park for the first time today and yup, I'm joining the train of people saying "that place is definitely magic" :)

@Vulpes_Absurda a few times I've tried to look up fox coloration reference images and then I run into fur harvesting content and I nope so fucking hard :< :< :< :<

So I watched Black Panther

I'm not gonna get into how I feel about the central political question driving the film, though.

So I watched Black Panther and here's my take on Ross

Heck, in the stinger, a literal american flag lapel pin was being used to aggressively code him as Other. I think that's neat.

So I watched Black Panther and here's my take on Ross

I think it's cool how Ross was used in the film. After half an hour or whatever with Wakandans, this highly american white guy is introduced... and both that context and the way he's presented clearly establish him as Other. Not bad, just foreign and alien and completely clueless about the culture the film takes as given.

White US audiences are so used to being subject and default. I appreciate the invitation to take a different perspective.
