My experience in The Long Dark just before wrapping up the session:

Starting to get hypothermic and it's snowing, but there's a wolf shadowing me so I can't stop to try and start a fire. Didn't have any torches prepped. Just... keep walking and hope I can find some shelter and stay ahead of the wolf before I can't keep walking anymore.
