Huh. Most people *aren't* lowkey constantly aware of being combatants in three or four different culture wars.

@starkatt the really weird thing;
before the term took off thanks to Ellu, we were both on Puzzlebox MU* (I think?) where our characters were from different parts of the solar system. My characters/avatars were from the pseudo-Russian area. I used the term to refer to literal dried kelp to make really cheapass faux-tobacco cigs that smelled like low tide when smoked, of which one character was fond because he had crummy taste. I'm sorta glad Ellu's version stuck around instead.

If I ever see "kelp" listed on one of those DEA lists of slang terms for drugs I'm gonna lose my shit.
The big thing that both of these had was the sensation that if you just picked a direction and started moving, you'd run into *something* new and interesting.
Actually, from what I watched of my partner playing Breath of the Wild, that looked pretty dang solid too.
I feel like Subnautica was such a good exploration game that I don't know if anything else will ever really compare.
No Man's Sky has a lot of individual *pieces* that feel like they ought to be compelling, but somehow just aren't quite clicking into place for me.
