@starkatt at first glance i misread that first one as "NO MONSTERS NO BRONIES"

Some of the best signs from trans march, personal opinion:

"NO MⒶSTERS NO BINⒶRIES"

"junkrat is trans + gay"

Okay y'all, regular reminder post:

A lot of you are newly following me who I've never interacted with. That's okay, but please try to say hi or introduce yourself or something, okay? I have follows open and am kinda nervous about doing so. Please show me I can trust you?

Also the survey taker was clearly stumbling over language and was painfully trying to avoid saying the word "genderqueer". I reassured her that saying the word was okay, really.

TBH I was kinda tempted to not take the survey out of annoyance with how little she'd practiced basic language, but I decided to anyway both for public health data and because I'm really fucking glad they're no longer lumping trans women under MSM.

In retrospect it was probably a bad idea to fill the write-in gender field with "a screaming void" on the HIV survey someone from King County gave me yesterday, but I honestly couldn't think of another answer that didn't feel gross on some axis.

[to the tune of gilligan's island] i wanna be the very best, like no one ever was,

@starkatt i've typically discovered that those kinds of folks don't ever realize it bc they're so used to being normal they don't really get what it means to feel different

There were a few people I saw at Trans March who were really obviously there to be tourists. It wasn't even anything about their presentation as much as the energy they were giving off, body language, the way they were responding to the crowd.

I wonder if they realize how much they stuck out.

At a bus transfer a while after leaving Trans March:

?? all these people look... cis?? All of them?? What even is this???

Trans March update: trying to start the chant "we will not be quiet / Stonewall was a riot" didn't catch on.

OTOH, at one point our entire section of the column all started going awoo, so that was kinda cool.

Wait, I'm looking at the route now, and the trans march is less than eight blocks long. I guess that's good for accessibility, but bad for visibility :|

Are you queer or gender nonconforming? We need your help!

My little sister is a high school teacher who's looking for queer & gender non-conforming students to answer a few questions about how she can best support them in the classroom!

coping with bad feels

When I start to go from "ahhhh thank you for being louder than the stuff in my brain" to "okay this actually is pretty dang loud, hrm", that's a good sign that it's working.

coping with bad feels

One of the most effective things I can do when having a bad night is to put on my headphones and turn the music *really* loud. It helps drive other stuff out of my brain.

It's a really good tool and I'm glad I have it. Music is important and good.

I tell myself "space is big", but seeing this demo of how far away the nearest star is kind of broke my brain.
