@starkatt In high school I had 2 dinosaur stuffies I named Trotsky and Lenin and they were lovers so... Obviously it's canon
A real big chunk of my media analysis toolkit is stuff I learned thanks to my HS English teacher, and I'm really grateful for that.
Pulling apart the implicit arguments of a work isn't actually that complicated most of the time, but it does take a lot of practice.
That's ultimately what media analysis is. Looking at what's trying to be communicated, what's actually being communicated, and how the communication is being done.
And I ultimately believe there's nuance and implicit argument going as far down as you want to look, leading into more and more basic cultural assumptions and norms. Stuff that we're so used to it's universally unquestioned.
...okay I *guess* technically there's a trans pride flag always flying on the flagpole outside our house.
Reading through the Monsterhearts 2 skin list, and one of them is basically making me shiver continuously while reading.
...So I guess I know who I want to play next game :D
Maybe it's that I'm wearing a button-up shirt?
... even though it's bright purple and shows off my breasts?
Nights like that make me ask, what the heck am I doing wrong? Do I need to put on a ton of makeup or something to get gendered correctly? I thought that maybe, eventually, I'd stop having to deal with that, but six years in and... :/
Moving to @starkatt
I'm a leftist trans gay fox girl. More than one thing can be true at a time. I believe in agency, subjectivity, and beauty.
In my day job, I'm an apprentice electrician.
