A *preposterously* trivial thing that I somehow find annoying: when people pronounce the TV show "Stranger Things" with the emphasis on the first word instead of the second.

Metallic world orbiting _really_ close to a B-class star. 22 earth masses and 5.2G surface gravity.

...also a silicate-iron atmosphere at 17 million atm pressure, and a surface temperature of just under 10,000K.

...it wasn't visibly rendered as such, but that's a massive boiling ball of slag.

I momentarily couldn't remember the word for "hot dogs" so I said "can we also get some... um, um, beefy boys?"

One thing that really doesn't come across in screenshots is the scale of these nebulae. They're not clouds I'm zipping around or through, they're static background objects tens of light-years across. If I want to move relative to the nebula, I need to jump to another star system.

I thiiink the last shooty pew-pew game to actually get/hold my attention was Overwatch.

Next on my list: Tacoma, Subnautica.

Hmm. The games I've gotten a lot out of in the last few months -- Astroneer, Stardew Valley, The Long Dark, Elite Dangerous -- are all rather slowly paced. I wonder if there's something to that?
